Recorded over 3 years... in 11 countries... featuring 136 musicians.

When I embarked on this journey in the beginning of January 2017, I had no idea that this body of work would become such a big part of my everyday life. Being constantly on the road presented many challenges in bringing this record to life.

Armed solely with a laptop, an external sound card, 2 Shure microphones (SM58 & SM57) and the onboard voice recorder on my cellphone I began obsessively collecting sound. Soon it became my deepest passion. Meeting all these wonderful musicians around the globe and spending hours in nature capturing as many field recordings as I could, has been a religious pilgrimage.

Slowly the record began writing itself…

20 songs naturally whittled down to the 10 that ultimately found their way to press.

Now 3 years later and thousands of hours captured, it is my greatest honour to be able to present my proudest body of work to-date.

’an Unwritten Life’ for me, which features recordings from South Africa, Lesotho, Namibia, St Helena, Brazil, Venezuela, Trinidad and Tobago, The United Sates, Germany, France, Norway (and somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic whist crossing an ocean) is a sonic photo album of years of refining my craft.

Aside from 4 session musicians in the last throws of the album, every single artist on the record, gave their time/passion/love freely. I really cannot express the amount of gratitude I feel for the musicians way, and their constant reinvention.
